The Redmi Note series devices have been the most selling phones for Xiaomi in countries such as India and China.
These devices come with all the latest hardware and features while costing half of the similar devices of other companies.
Now with the huge success of the last two devices of the series the company is all set to launch the successor of the series, i.e., the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
The upcoming device will be based on the same design as of Redmi Note 4 but will have significant improvements over its predecessor.
There have been enough leaks in the past which give us a good idea of what the device will have to offer once it is officially released.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Features
According to the rumors, the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will run on the latest Octa- core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor clocked at 2.0 Ghz and an unknown GPU as well.
The device might also have a MediaTek variant featuring the 2.1GHz deca-core Meditek Helio x25 processor.
The device will have different variants when it comes to storage and RAM size.

The Redmi Note 5 features a similar 5.5 inch full HD display boasting a higher pixel density of 400+ PPI. Also, the screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Coming to the camera aspect, the Redmi Note 5 features a f/2.0 16MP CMOS rear camera along with dual tone flash while the front camera comes with an impressive 8MP sensor, the phone won’t disappoint the photography lovers as it comes with tons of camera customization setting and several new features as well.
The main highlight of the Redmi phones have always been the battery backup, and Redmi Note 5 will carry on the tradition with a massive 4100 mAh battery promised to last you a full day or even a day and a half with moderate usage.
There are very high chances that the upcoming device may feature Quick Charge support as well.
On the software aspect, the device will be running Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with MIUI skin on top; the device will be treated to the official Android O update as well.
The device is expected to launch Q2 2017 in China first and will be available shortly in other countries after the official launch.
